RIP CURL PRO BELLS BEACH 2024

Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach Preview

On March 26, the fourth event of the World Tour will begin with one of the most prestigious competitions on the circuit, Bells Beach Pro. It is an event where all professional surfers dream of ringing the bell, it is said that if you want to be world champion you have to win this championship.

Griffin Colapinto arrives as the leader of the circuit after winning in Portugal, and Molly Picklum also continues to lead the ranking although Johanne Defay, winner in Portugal, has come very close to her. It seems that those who win in Bells have many chances to wear the yellow jersey.

On the other hand, and for us the most interesting thing, is that there are only two events left before the mid-year cutoff is made. Therefore, those who want to continue one more year with the best surfers in the world will have to do well at Bells Beach. A lot at stake!

Bells Beach 2024 Favorites and Underdogs

It seems that on March 26 the championship will be ON. The forecast says that on the first day there will be enough waves to do the first rounds for both men and women. Even so, the swell will not last long and the sea will go down quite a bit for the next few days, which means that the Winkipop wave will surely take center stage. We'll see how the wave forecast goes.

As for the Bells wave, regular surfers who know how to carve and generate speed have a lot to gain. Although goofies who know how to set the right tempo can do a lot of damage too. For us, in this wave you can see who is good at surfing and that is why our picks will be those that we believe are the best for these conditions.

Favorites (Men):

John John Florence:

He is one of the best (if not the best) at doing strong carvings and this wave allows him to show off his power in those maneuvers. On the right he is always a danger, he has already been champion in Bells and this year he is seriously going for more.

John John Florence

Ethan Ewing:

He was champion last year, and is very likely to ring the bell this year as well. He is the most elegant surfer in the world without a doubt, and the Bells wave will allow him to demonstrate that beautiful style he has when surfing straight.

Italo Ferreira:

When we think about forehands, Italo's backside comes to mind, and not only because of the aerials he does. The speed he has and the strength with which he does all the maneuvers do not go unnoticed, and it seems that he is going to give it his all in Bells since this year he wants to be in the top 5 no matter what. Careful.

Griffin Colapinto:

The current world leader is more motivated than ever, last year he was third in the world and this year he is going for the World Champ. He is very good at the Bells Beach wave as he has the ability to read long waves very well and make different maneuvers in them. He has a lot of confidence in his forehands and whoever wants to take away the yellow lycra will have to fight a lot.

Underdogs (Men):

Samuel Pupo:

The youngest Pupo is one of the best right-wing surfers. The speed he generates and the strength he puts into all the maneuvers he does is impressive. For us he is the number 1 underdog, he can do a lot of damage in this competition. Eye.

Connor O'Leary:

Connor is one of the fastest surfers on the planet. His backside is like a knife and is a threat to all World Tour surfers. This year he looks in shape and is going for the top 5. Be careful.

Favorites (Women):

Tyler Wright:

Tyler already knows what it's like to win at Bells, and after losing the final in Portugal he's sure to come for the bell. She is one of the best surfers in history surfing straights like the one at Bells Beach. A lot of flow and a lot of strength.

Tyler Wright

Molly Picklum:

Molly is always a favorite. In all the championships. All the waves in the world are good at it. Not much more needs to be said.

Molly picklum

Lakey Peterson:

He's been surfing amazing lately, and he's very good at right hands. He usually trains a lot on Trestle's forehands and I think it will show a lot in this event. He is capable of beating anyone with his speed.

Caroline Marks:

The current world champion has the best backside in the world by far. She is an expert in forehands and shows it in each championship. I think that if he gets small he has a lot to gain. If it gets too big it will be difficult. For now the swell is very favorable for his surfing.

Underdogs (Women):

Bettylou Sakura Johnson:

Although he should no longer be an underdog, Bett cannot be left out of the pools. His powerful snaps made in Hawaii are a trademark of the house and he will demonstrate it during the event.

Sawyer Lindblad:

Be careful with this young American who is showing that Caroline's backside is not very far from hers. He connects the powerful back turns very well and that will be key in Bells. Keep an eye.

We hope our picks are helpful for the Fantasy Surfer! Don't hesitate to comment if you have any questions!
